Learning Technology Advisory Council: Setting the Course for Market Adoption of Digital Learning Standards Workshop
Thursday, May 20th
Presenters: Mark Norton, Lead Architect, Digital Marketplace and Jeffery Kahn, Applications and Services Integration
Synopsis: The Digital Marketplace is a set of web services that enable an institution to manage its learning resources independently from any academic application (authoring tool, LMS, etc.). With this approach, new levels of affordability, accessibility, and choice are available to students and faculty. For the institution, this content independence offers the opportunity to form new, innovative business relationships with content providers. This presentation will highlight how industry standards are utilized and web services work together to create this level of content independence.
